Pottery is my hobby. I'm taking classes continually to create pieces that I enjoy. The aim of this little shop is not to make a profit. I hope to share my pieces with people who will find joy in them and at the same time recoup some of the cost of materials and classes.
I focus on simpler pieces with "buff" clay- a stoneware clay that is a bit gritty but is strong. I'm currently focusing on fundamentals. This means gaining mastery over the clay by focusing on centering, pulling, and shaping the clay.
I've found that I really love sgraffito. The process seems to be where my style shows through.
